Assessment & Therapy
Soundality offers assessment and therapy services to school-aged children at READ Literacy Centre located at Suite 23/180 Moggill Road, Taringa, QLD 4066.

Assessment and therapy sessions can focus on the following areas of a child's development:
Understanding and Use of Spoken Language
Reading and Spelling
Speech Sounds (Articulation & Phonology)
Assessment fees vary depending on your child's age, range of areas to be assessed and duration of the assessment. Pricing will be confirmed via email or over the phone prior to booking your appointment. You do not need a medical referral to access speech pathology services.
After the assessment, a report will be provided within three weeks of the final session. The results and recommendations will be discussed with you at a follow-up meeting over the phone or in-person. This meeting is included in the assessment fee. With your permission, we will also consult with teachers and other specialists working with your child. Further testing by other professionals (i.e. audiologist, paediatrician, psychologist or occupational therapist) may be recommended.
Therapy sessions are provided weekly (or fortnightly when appropriate) at a rate of $126 for 45 minutes. One hour sessions are available at a rate of $168. Consultations and school visits to attend planning meetings are available on request.
All payments are expected at the time of the appointment or as arranged. We accept the following payment methods:
Electronic claiming for health funds is available
Failure to attend or give notice of appointment cancellation may incur charges.
Private Health Fund Rebates
Electronic health fund claiming via HICAPS is available for most private health funds.
Rebate amounts vary. Contact your health fund provider for details.
Medicare covers Speech Pathology visits for some specific conditions. Clients must be deemed eligible for a Chronic Disease Management plan (also known as 'Enhanced Primary Care') by their local Paediatrician/General Practitioner and a referral is required. Contact your GP for more information.
